Shaun King: nothing has changed me more than praying five times a day
The lessons that I have learned this month about the wonderful life of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, and his companions, have changed the entire trajectory of my life. You may have heard me say this once before, but nothing has changed me more than praying 5 times a day. During Ramadan, on some days, I prayed 7-10 times per day – each time with my hands and knees and face on the ground.
Is it food or money for Zakatul Fitr?
Zakatul Fitr also referred to as Sadaqatul-Fitr is an obligatory charity that is done at the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadan. This form of charity is due on every person who has sufficient means to maintain himself and his family beyond the day and night of Eid and it must be paid on behalf of every member of oneโs family including infants.
Dealing with my sapping energy halfway through Ramadan
We are halfway through Ramadan when our energies are sapping, our routine falling apart and our resolve declining in sheer helplessness. Ramadanโs midway slump requires an invigoration of enthusiasm in order to pick ourselves up and dominate our souls once again.
As the last days of Ramadan approach, no doubt many of us are feeling guilty of how our last 15 days passed with so many of our spiritual target unmet. That feeling will emotionally torment any honourable believer who has always been on top of his spiritual alacrity.
