There is always a known way or a path to everything, music is the satanic path that leads a person straight into a hellish gorge. Listening to it is like running away from Allah and going towards the deception of devil.

Allah says in the Magnificent Quran:  “And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allah…” Quran 31:6

Like wine it clouds your intellect and confuses your mind. It evokes your emotion that is why you shake your head, clap and beat the ground with the feet. Scholars say these actions ruin the heart while hastening Allah’s wrath.

In Islam, music is regarded as fisq (rebellion and evildoing), its enjoyment is disbelieve and it is a sin that implies a person is a hard-core fasiq, a rebellious evil doer. Addiction to Music is a form of sickness of the heart and sign of a fragile faith.

Listening to Music is a frivolous undertaking that results a person to miss the higher and important things in life and be left out of Allah’s blessings. It ruins realities and ushers in destructive worldly amusements.

Al-Yazid Ibn al-Walid said: “Avoid singing because it increases lusts (al-shahwa) and ruins good character. It has the same effect as alcohol. At a minimum, keep it away from women, for it incites immorality”

Musical lyrics are full of falsehood, unrealistic expectations, dirty words and propagates the norms of disbelievers. It is a complete deviation from the pristine culture of Islam where morality and decency is deeply entrenched.

Contemporary music consolidate all forms of evil, encouraging open fornication, lewdness, and looseness that everything is acceptable.  Musicians talk about love and sex and sanitize drugs and alcohol consumption.

Semi-naked men and women behave like animals in the open encouraging every form of intemperance and immorality. Viewing, listening and admiring bad role models such as Musicians is tantamount to trailing the footsteps of Satan.

Ibn Masoud (ra) said: “Singing (al-ghina) makes hypocrisy (al-nifaq) grow in one’s heart just as water makes grass grow”

The four imams: Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Ahmed, Imam Shafi and Imam Malik all of them prohibited Music. They disliked and regarded listening to songs as sinful. They said the Quran and Music cannot go into the same heart.

Imam Shafii said: Singing (al-ghina) is a forbidden form of leisure. It resembles falsehood, and whoever does too much of it is a fool whose testimony must be rejected.”

Houses where Music is played throughout are indeed stomping ground for Satan. Its inhabitants are misguided people who follow their own desires indulging in excesses chasing away angels and angering Allah.

The prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Among my Ummah there will be those people who will permit zina, silk and alcohol and they will permit Musical instruments”

To be pure Islamically means staying away from evil. Since Music is immoral it renders one to be impure and dirty, enjoying it is a sign that you are a sinful person who decided to disobey the commandments of Allah.

Those who disobey Allah, cannot be His Friends whilst committing sins and living a sinful life. Sooner or later the wrath of Allah will catch up with them, with devastating consequences they will live on to regret.

Imam Ibn Jawzi said “Be cautious of sins, for their consequences are evil. How many sins there are whose perpetrator is still falling and stumbling, while suffering poverty and lamenting the worldly pleasures they have been denied”
