Kenya Chief Kadhi: Crescent not sighted, Ramadan to start on Tuesday

downloadMuslims in Kenya will usher in the holy month of Ramadan on Tuesday (Jun 7), Kenya’s Chief Kadhi has announced on Sunday Evening.

Chief Kadhi, Sheikh Al Muhdhar Hussein said that the much awaited Ramadan crescent has not been seen  on Sunday evening announcing that Tuesday 07/06/2016 will be the starting day of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

“We will therefore complete the 30 days of Sha’aban, since the Ramadan crescent was not seen” The chief Kadhi said while speaking to the local media in Mombasa
