Hassan Ole Naado named as SUPKEM deputy chairman

The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has appointed Hassan Ole Naado as its new deputy national chairman. Ole Naado was picked to replace the late Abdillahi Sirat who died in January this year.

The council also appointed Ahmed Said Bajaber, the chairman of the Gulf African Bank (GAB), former National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) Chief executive Officer (CEO) Sumayya Athman and retired senior education officer, Sheikh Dego Iman Ibrahim to the National Executive Council (NEC).

The Supkem NEC members who met last Saturday unanimously nominated Ole Naado to the position pending ratification by the National Governing Council.

“We have decided to fill the position after mourning our departed colleague, with these nominations the council looks forward to increase visibility and service delivery to its diverse constituency across the Country,” said the national chairman Dr. Yusuf Abdulrahman Nzibo.

Before this nomination, Ole Naado had served in deferent capacities within Supkem including serving as the national youth affairs secretary and deputy secretary general respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Ole Naado who has also been the head of strategy and partnership at the Muslim umbrella body promised to work around the clock to improve on the Council’s service delivery and visibility.

“I take this opportunity to thank the members of the National Executive Council of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims ( for nominating me as the acting Deputy National Chairman. I owe this position to the confidence the membership of SUPKEM across the country have on me. Insha’Allah, I wouldn’t disappoint,” he said.

Ole Naado called for support and cooperation in order to accelerate development agenda in the Muslim community in the country.
