Chapati is a thin pancake made from all-purpose wheat flour. It is recognized by the golden brown patches that spread out once grilled. Chapatti is a favorite dish for many, especially when served with coconut beans.

Chapati

Ingredients
1/2kg All-purpose wheat flour
1/2 spoon of Salt
1 cup of water

1/2 cup cooking fat  or oil

Preparation
In a large bowl add flour, salt, and mix.
Add cooking fat, add water gradually, and start kneading.
Knead the flour until the dough becomes smooth and soft.
Place dough on a rolling board, before that sprinkle flour over the rolling board.
Roll until you have a round flat shape. Fold like you are folding a mat.
Then cut into six pieces. Place the pieces on a plate.
Sprinkle flour on the rolling board.
Start spreading the dough with the rolling stick.
Meanwhile hit the frying pan and grease it with cooking fat.
Place the rolled round piece on the pan.
Flip it over when the bottom forms brown patches.
Do the same to the upper side.
Now grease the pan with oil and the upper part with oil.
Remove from the pan when both sides have golden brown patches.
Serve with coconut beans or any stew.
