Just how much are you confused? The lockdown, the social isolation and the ensuing quarantine brought the world into its knees. It is a new experience and a weird world order that has affected our way of life.

We are finding ourselves in an environment of confusion, anxiety and fear. It is all about life and death and no longer about finance, career and success. Our thoughts and feelings are now confined to what happens next

But life must move on…..

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) : “Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him”  (Muslim)

Double your Ibadah efforts

Now is the time to firmly hold on to the rope of Allah. How pleasant is it to humble yourself before your creator with unceasing loyalty in the midst of a storm that no one else can handle.

Move out of the comfort zone and come up with special voluntary deeds. Do not be contented in offering ONLY five obligatory daily prayers. Enduring the current storm requires one to double his Ibadah efforts: More special deeds, more spiritual engagement and consolations.

The secret of every kind of hardship is seeking solace in faith. Showcase your true loyalty to the creator of the universe, engaging in more deeds, repenting a lot and praising the Lord.

With every obligatory prayer include the Baadiyah and Qabliyah, the highly recommended voluntary prayers that make a lot of sense to our spirituality. This increases our daily regimens of Rakaats from just 17 to 29. At the end of every single day, you will make 58 sujoods. What an honourable believer will you be?

Imam Ibn Qayyim said: “Sadness departs with a Sajdah. Happiness comes with a sincere Du’a”

Increase your chances of making more Sujoods by offering a lot of voluntary prayers. At this point in time, you need more of this than anything else put together. This enlightens your spirit, empowers your body and mental state. You will build more immunity against all kind of evil and diseases and your face shall shine with endless glistening.

Cultivate your faith

This is a season of cultivation, the harvest depends on your preparations. Hold on your breath and feel your heart and mind. Are you surely fearing Allah? The strength of your faith will determine your success.

There should be no fear and anxiety with regards to COVID for the one who fears Allah sincerely. The heart of an honourable believer is always at an optimum rest with a celestial surety from Allah (the Most High) that we are under his wholesome protection.

It is that time to “Say, “O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.” Quran 3:26

One of the greatest blessings of faith is the fact that everything Allah decrees for the believer, whether in ease or hardship, will be good for him. If he experiences ease, he remains grateful and is rewarded. If he experiences hardship, he remains patient and is rewarded.

And we have a compassionate Lord who answers the prayer of every believer. But is there anyone who sincerely prays for his mercy? Allah (The Most High) says in the magnificent Quran.

“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me (by obedience) and believe in Me that they may be (rightly) guided.” Quran 2: 186

Repent, repent, repent…..

Imam Ghazali in his book Ihya explained that man must repent because repentance is a requirement to achieve eternal happiness and survival from destructions.

Allah (the Most High) assured those who practice repentance through increased Istighfaar of accepting them back, answering their prayers and making them successful believers.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever frequently asks for forgiveness, Allah (the Most High) will appoint for him relief from every worry, away out from every difficulty and provisions coming from unimagined sources” (Abu Daud)

Start a daily regimen for repentance. Say a lot of Istighfaars and ask Allah for forgiveness. Sit in the mornings and evenings to quantify and qualify repentance. Give yourself a target of how many Istighfaars can you read in a single day.

May Allah protect us and bless us a lot…………..amiin…….
