Here is a delicious breakfast snack common among coastal communities. Yummy yummy’s sweet dumplings known in Kiswahili as ‘Kaimati za sukari ya ndani’ is a perfect homemade nosh, sweet and crunchy.
Ingredients
1/4 kg all purpose flour
1/9kg Brown sugar
2tbsp of yeast
1tbsp Cummin powder/vanilla
Water
Cooking oil
Method
Place flour in a bowl.
Add yeast, cumin powder and mix.
Add water gradually and mix until the mixture becomes thick and elastic .
Cover the mixture and let it stay undisturbed for 20 minutes.
Hit oil in medium heat.
Use a table spoon or the edges of your fingers (cuddled together) to fetch the mixture into the pan.
Deep fry until golden brown.
Serve with tea.
