Wajir High School has posted excellent results in the 2023 KCSE examinations released on Monday by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

The school is sending 110 students to university after gaining the minimum threshold for admission marking one of the highest transition rates from one institution in the entire region in recent years.

Speaking to the local media school principal Adan Kassim applauded the parents, teachers, and support staff for their overwhelming support as the school which is one of the oldest in the entire Northeastern region celebrates an educational milestone.

“We have not dropped; we have maintained a mean grade of C+. We have only one case of D+. We are happy and we are celebrating our performance” Kassim said “We thank our teachers and parents for their overwhelming support”

The principal further said the school which has zero tolerance for cheating is confident about its stellar results of 2023 KCSE as it continues to lead the region in offering quality education.

“We were expecting at least five of our candidates to produce straight ‘As’ but this did not happen. We will escalate that case to find out what happened” He said.

The principal took issue with the problem of cheating in national examinations saying the institution is committed to offering quality education that produces reliable grades based on individual student performance.

“In Wajir High School we have zero tolerance for cheating. I don’t entertain issues of exam malpractice. If you have that mentality, Wajir High School is not the right place “Kassim noted “I am confident with our results. Anyone from our School even with a D+ can progress with his education”

The school has for the longest time been the one that produces almost half of the students in North Eastern who get to qualify for university education every year. It prides itself on being the most established high school in the region
