A new case of cholera is reported in Wajir as fear of another outbreak worries the county government and health officials.
One man is reportedly isolated in a ward at Wajir’s main county hospital. The patient who is recuperating is the latest admission from Bula Halane, a densely populated neighborhood of the town.
Medical and health officials from the county are setting up contingent measures to mitigate potential breakout of the disease that is caused by dirty water and food.
An outbreak in 2016 has led to death of five people and admission of at least 50 others.
