A section of Muslim leaders have commended president Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent announcement of his cabinet, saying it reflects Kenya’s national composition.
The Secretary General of The Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa, said the President’s cabinet arrangements were broad-based and that all the regions of Kenya were well represented.
“Now that the President has named his Cabinet, we should stop politicking and instead stand as Kenyans and focus on development” he said
The religious leaders called for a true pacification of the country and cessation of endless politics that they said have paused the country’s social, political and economic developments.
“We are all Kenyans. What I urge my fellow countrymen is to embrace togetherness and focus on important issues like helping children from poor families go to school, engage in farming and industrialisation, which will boost our economy,” the religious leader said
They lauded the president’s inclusion of four Muslims into his list of nominated cabinets that awaits parliamentary approvals this week.
“I now urge the President to allocate the remaining slots in various parastatals and departments to minority tribes for them to feel Kenyan,” he said
In his new cabinet, the president included former Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed who will now head the Education ministry, Mr Najib Balala will continue heading the Tourism ministry, Adam Mohammed was maintained in Industrialisation and Rashid Mohammed was nominated to the Sports and Heritage ministry.
Other important Muslim nominations include former Tana River Governor Hussein Dado who is set to be Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Devolution.
The Muslim leaders were speaking in Taveta Town, Taita Taveta County on Sunday during the launch cialis sans ordonnance of CIPK branch’s strategic plan.
